Mohammed Hassan Alyassi: A Real Story Teller Preserving Culture Through Media.

Early Beginnings – A Spark in 1998
Alyassi’s story begins in 1998, long before the digital age dominated everyday life. As a young boy, his curiosity was shaped by two powerful influences:
-
His sister, who introduced him to the art of capturing moments.
-
His father, who encouraged him to experiment with technology.
In their family home, cameras and early computers weren’t just devices they were portals to creativity.
“They opened worlds of creativity,” Alyassi recalls fondly. “I could capture moments, tell stories, and explore technology in ways I never imagined.”
This early exposure taught him more than just technical skills. He discovered the power of visuals to freeze time preserving memories that might otherwise fade.
Alyassi spent countless hours experimenting with his father’s old camera, photographing everything from family gatherings to the shifting desert landscapes outside his window. These childhood experiments were the first steps in a lifelong passion one that would ultimately focus on safeguarding cultural heritage.
From Neighborhood Photographer to Digital Innovator
By the early 2000s, Alyassi had become a local celebrity in his neighborhood, known for his sharp eye and creative flair.
Photography was no longer just a hobby it had become his defining passion. Among his interests, cars stood out. He was drawn to their sleek designs, mechanical power, and the stories they seemed to tell. Weekends often found him at local events, meticulously photographing vehicles, capturing every curve and reflection.
In 2002, as internet forums emerged, Alyassi made a pioneering move launching his first online photography community. This was more than a gallery; it was a hub where enthusiasts could share ideas, critique each other’s work, and grow together.
“It was about connection,” he explains. “I wanted to build a space where people could learn from one another.”
The platform quickly attracted photographers from across the region, fostering camaraderie and skill development. Alyassi continued to invest in new cameras, lenses, and editing tools, mastering each as technology evolved—from early video editing to modern production techniques.
