Sharjah has taken another big step in improving public health and community well-being. In partnership with Kalba Municipality, Sharjah Municipality has officially opened Kalba’s first Medical Fitness Center.

The new center was launched under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Executive Council.

The opening event was attended by Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Ruler’s Office in Kalba, and Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah City Municipality, along with several senior officials and guests.

This new facility is a key part of Sharjah’s plan to expand quality healthcare services across all its cities, ensuring that residents in Kalba can access the same high standards of care found elsewhere in the emirate.

A New Step Toward Better Healthcare in Kalba

The Medical Fitness Center in Kalba aims to make essential health services more accessible to everyone. It provides medical examinations for residency and professional health cards, serving both residents and workers in the area.

The center represents Sharjah’s strong focus on improving community health, disease prevention, and quality of life. It also reflects the government’s goal to ensure that healthcare services are available, efficient, and reliable in every corner of the emirate.

Guided by Leadership and Vision

The launch of this new center comes as part of the continuous support and direction of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi. Under his leadership, Sharjah continues to invest in public health infrastructure, digital transformation, and service accessibility.

This project aligns with Sharjah’s long-term goal of creating a healthier, happier, and more connected community. By setting up such centers in different cities, the emirate ensures that residents no longer need to travel far for mandatory medical exams or fitness checks.

Expanding Access to Medical Services

During the inauguration, Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah City Municipality, spoke about how the new facility will help strengthen Sharjah’s healthcare network.

He said, “The new center shows our commitment to expanding health services and ensuring that everyone has access to high-quality care. Our focus is on promoting well-being and supporting residents with trusted medical services.”

Al Tunaiji also pointed out that the center is equipped with advanced medical devices that deliver accurate results in less time. The project was completed in record time and started welcoming clients immediately after its opening.

He added that this development is part of Sharjah Municipality’s digital transformation journey, which focuses on improving the speed, quality, and ease of accessing services through smart systems.

Fast, Smart, and Hassle-Free Medical Tests

One of the biggest advantages of the new Kalba Medical Fitness Center is how quick and efficient it is.

Adel Omar Salem, Director of Public Health and Central Laboratories at Sharjah Municipality, said that the center is designed around speed, accuracy, and convenience.

He explained, “People can now complete their medical fitness tests easily. After submitting their documents and giving a blood sample, they receive their results by SMS within two hours.”

This process saves time and reduces paperwork, offering a smooth digital experience for users. Salem added that the medical and technical staff have been trained to maintain professional standards, ensuring that each test is done with accuracy and care.

“Our goal is simple,” he said. “We want everyone to feel satisfied and confident in the services they receive. Customer happiness is at the heart of what we do.”

Innovation and Digital Health Services

Sharjah Municipality continues to lead in introducing smart and innovative services. The new Kalba center is an example of how technology can make healthcare faster and more reliable.

From digital registration to automated reporting, the entire system is built to save time and enhance accuracy. Clients no longer have to wait long hours or deal with manual paperwork. Everything is processed electronically, making the experience simple and stress-free.

This digital approach supports Sharjah’s broader vision to become a leader in smart health and digital governance. It also helps maintain accurate health data for better planning and future development.

Strong Cooperation Between Municipalities

The opening of the Kalba Medical Fitness Center shows the strong cooperation between Sharjah Municipality and Kalba Municipality.

Dr. Ahmed Saeed Al Mazrouei, Director of Kalba Municipality, praised the teamwork and support that made this project possible. He thanked Sharjah Municipality for helping set up the center quickly and equipping it with modern tools and skilled staff.

He said, “This center will make life easier for residents. It saves them time and effort while helping prevent diseases and promoting better health.”

Dr. Al Mazrouei also mentioned that the municipality plans to expand the range of services at the center in the future. The goal is to turn it into a complete healthcare facility that serves different community needs.

Sharjah’s Role as a Healthy City

Sharjah was recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as the first Healthy City in the Middle East and North Africa. This new project continues that legacy.

By opening a medical fitness center in Kalba, Sharjah shows its continued commitment to promoting public health, clean environments, and community well-being.

Every project, from hospitals to fitness centers, follows the same vision—to make Sharjah a healthier and more sustainable place to live.

Protecting the Environment Alongside Health

Along with the launch of the fitness center, Sharjah Municipality introduced a mobile air quality monitoring vehicle in Kalba.

This new vehicle is fitted with advanced sensors that can measure air quality in real time. It tracks key gases and particles like nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, ozone, sulfur oxides, and fine dust (PM2.5 and PM10).

The data collected from these sensors will help experts study pollution trends and find ways to reduce them. This includes planting more trees and greenery in busy areas to make the air cleaner and the city more livable.

This initiative supports Sharjah’s sustainability goals and reflects its commitment to combining environmental protection with public health.

Building a Cleaner and Healthier Future

By investing in both healthcare and environmental monitoring, Sharjah is working toward a balanced and sustainable urban future.

Good health depends not only on medical services but also on the quality of the air people breathe. With projects like these, Sharjah ensures that every aspect of community life supports well-being, safety, and comfort.

The municipality’s actions also inspire other cities in the UAE to take similar steps toward smart, sustainable, and people-focused urban development.

Smart Health for a Smarter Emirate

The new Kalba Medical Fitness Center is a key part of Sharjah’s smart health strategy. Its digital systems make testing easier, faster, and more accurate, improving both efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Residents in Kalba and nearby areas now have access to modern health services locally, which saves them time and travel costs. This decentralization ensures that every region in Sharjah gets equal access to essential services.

By combining smart technology with human care, Sharjah continues to build a healthcare model that is innovative, inclusive, and sustainable.

Commitment to Quality and Community Well-Being

Sharjah Municipality’s mission goes beyond just building facilities—it focuses on improving everyday life for residents.

With projects like the Kalba Medical Fitness Center and the air monitoring vehicle, the municipality continues to set new standards in public service, digital excellence, and environmental responsibility.

This development is a sign of Sharjah’s commitment to progress, showing how leadership, technology, and teamwork can come together to make a real difference in people’s lives.
