UAE Confirms Eid Al Adha on June 6 With Prayer Timings
  • PublishedJune 5, 2025

The United Arab Emirates has officially announced that Eid Al Adha will be observed on Friday, June 6, 2025. The declaration, made by Islamic authorities in the country, marks the beginning of one of the most significant religious festivals in the Islamic calendar. Eid Al Adha commemorates the unwavering faith and devotion of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and is observed by Muslims worldwide through special prayers, charitable acts, and the ritual sacrifice of animals.

Nationwide Preparations Underway for a Peaceful Eid

In anticipation of large gatherings, UAE authorities across all seven emirates have begun preparations to ensure that Eid Al Adha celebrations proceed smoothly and peacefully. These preparations include crowd management, sanitation of public prayer areas, and the coordination of emergency services. Religious departments, municipalities, and law enforcement agencies are working together to guarantee a safe and organized environment for millions of worshippers and visitors.

Focus on Safety and Organization

Staying true to the UAE’s commitment to hosting incident-free and inclusive religious events, the authorities are deploying a wide range of measures. These include deploying additional personnel at high-traffic areas, regulating parking zones, and ensuring hygiene standards are maintained across all prayer venues. The goal is to provide a spiritually fulfilling and logistically seamless experience for all residents and visitors.

Eid Prayer Timings Across the Emirates

Islamic authorities have released the official Eid prayer timings for each emirate to help worshippers plan their morning schedules:

  • Abu Dhabi – 5:50 AM

  • Dubai – 5:45 AM

  • Sharjah & Ajman – 5:44 AM

  • Umm Al Quwain – 5:43 AM

  • Ras Al Khaimah & Fujairah – 5:41 AM

These timings align with Islamic traditions, ensuring that prayers begin shortly after sunrise.

Sharjah to Host Eid Prayers at 644 Venues

The Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah has designated 644 mosques and open prayer grounds to accommodate the large number of worshippers expected. These include:

  • 454 venues in Sharjah City and Al Hamriyah

  • 104 venues in the Central Region

  • 86 venues in the Eastern Region

All venues have undergone cleaning, sanitization, carpet installation, and sound system testing. Cooling systems have also been checked to ensure worshippers are comfortable during prayers.

Multi-Agency Collaboration Ensures Public Safety

In Sharjah, various government bodies—including Sharjah Police, Municipality, and Civil Defense—are coordinating to oversee crowd management and ensure public safety. Outdoor areas have been specially arranged to avoid congestion, and emergency services will be on standby during prayer times.

Inclusive Worship for People with Disabilities

Reflecting the UAE’s inclusive vision, special provisions have been made to ensure that people with disabilities can fully participate in the Eid Al Adha prayers. For example, at Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal Mosque in the Al Jazzat area of Sharjah, the Eid sermon will be translated into sign language in real time to accommodate worshippers who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Additionally, many mosques have been equipped with accessible ramps, shaded areas, and other accommodations to support worshippers with mobility or functional support needs. These efforts are part of a nationwide commitment to ensuring accessibility and inclusion for all members of the community.

Guidelines to Preserve Spiritual Order

Nationwide, mosques have issued clear guidelines urging worshippers to:

  • Arrive early

  • Wear respectful and traditional attire

  • Maintain cleanliness and public order

  • Follow the directions of mosque staff

These steps aim to uphold the sanctity and spiritual atmosphere of the occasion.

A Festival of Faith, Community, and Charity

Eid Al Adha goes beyond rituals—it is a time for unity, reflection, and generosity. Families gather, communities support the less fortunate through charitable acts, and prayers reinforce the values of submission to God, compassion, and gratitude. Rooted in the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), Eid Al Adha continues to serve as a spiritual anchor for millions in the UAE and across the Muslim world.
